Ham Antenna SWR
Ham Antenna & SWR Calc is a local-first calculator for quick amateur radio antenna math and simple SWR-related reference checks.
What does the app calculate?
The app calculates:
- dipole length from a manually entered frequency
- quarter-wave vertical length from a manually entered frequency
- shortening-factor-adjusted results for practical cutting and trimming
- simple SWR helper outputs from manual values
Which inputs does the app use?
Version 1.0 supports:
- manually entered frequency values
- a manual shortening factor
- manual values used by the SWR helper
What is a shortening factor?
A shortening factor adjusts a theoretical wire length to a more practical starting length before final trimming and field verification.
Does the app control radios, tuners, or meters?
No. Version 1.0 is manual entry only. It does not control radios, tuners, analyzers, meters, or other hardware.
Does the app perform live SWR measurement?
No. Ham Antenna & SWR Calc does not read live measurement data. Use it as a reference calculator alongside your own field measurements.
Does the app provide band plan or licensing advice?
No. The app focuses on calculator workflows only. It does not tell you which frequencies to use, whether you are licensed to operate there, or how to configure a station for legal operation.
Are the results guaranteed?
No. Use the app as a starting point for planning and trimming. Always confirm dimensions, installation details, and measured SWR before transmitting or making permanent cuts.
Are my values synced anywhere?
No. Version 1.0 has no account system and no cloud sync.
