Freelance Rate Calculator is a local-first pricing calculator for freelancers and consultants.
What the app does
The app turns manual inputs into a pricing floor:
- target yearly take-home income
- annual business expenses
- income-tax and self-employment-tax assumptions
- vacation, admin, and billable-time assumptions
- project hours and contingency
It can then show an hourly floor, day rate, and project minimum.
What the app does not do
### Does the app file taxes or handle accounting?
No. Freelance Rate Calculator is a manual planning tool only. It does not file taxes, track bookkeeping, or replace accounting software.
### Does the app tell me the market rate I should charge?
No. It backsolves your internal floor from the assumptions you enter. It does not pull salary benchmarks, market-rate data, or competitor pricing.
### Does the app create proposals, invoices, or contracts?
No. Version 1.0 is intentionally narrower than a full freelancer operations suite.
Saved scenarios
### Does the app save my data?
Yes. The app can save your scenarios locally on the current device so you can reuse them later.
### Is any of that data uploaded to a server?
No. Version 1.0 has no account system and no cloud sync.
Currencies
### Can I use other currencies?
Yes. The app supports multiple manual currency modes for the same math workflow. It does not perform exchange-rate conversion.
