App Support

E6B Flight Computer

E6B Flight Computer is a local-first reference calculator for three manual planning jobs: wind correction, runway wind components, and density altitude.

What does the app calculate?

Version 1.0 supports:

Which inputs does the app use?

The app uses only manual inputs that you type yourself:

Does the app use live weather, GPS, or charts?

No. Version 1.0 is manual entry only. It does not connect to live weather feeds, GPS position, moving maps, charts, or airport databases.

Does the app replace an EFB or approved onboard equipment?

No. E6B Flight Computer is a planning and training aid only. It does not replace pilot judgment, required onboard equipment, or approved flight-planning sources.

Should I enter true course or magnetic course?

The wind workflow is built around true course and true heading. If your planning material starts with magnetic values, convert them before using the wind result in your broader planning process.

What does the runway component tool show?

It breaks wind into:

This helps you compare the wind with runway alignment and aircraft limitations before making a decision.

What does density altitude mean here?

The app gives a density altitude reference from pressure altitude and temperature so you can recognize when performance is likely degraded. Always confirm takeoff and climb performance in the aircraft POH or AFM.

Are the results guaranteed?

No. Use the app as a reference starting point only. Actual conditions, aircraft performance, runway condition, weight, and pilot judgment all matter.

Are my values synced anywhere?

No. Version 1.0 has no account system and no cloud sync.
