DMX Dip Switch
DMX Dip Switch Calc is an offline utility for DMX address planning on fixtures that use DIP switches.
What does the app do?
The app is intended to help with:
- showing the 9-switch layout for a DMX start address from
1to511 - reverse-calculating the address from manually selected switch states
- matching switch-bank orientation with a reverse bank view
- checking the last used channel and next safe start for a fixture footprint
- saving a few common fixture presets or labels locally
Does the app connect to fixtures or other equipment?
No. Version 1.0 is positioned as a manual calculator and visual reference only.
Does it need internet access?
No. Core calculations are intended to work fully offline.
What are the range checks for?
They show the last channel a fixture will occupy and whether the next fixture still fits before the DMX universe edge. This helps when you are spacing fixtures by footprint and want to avoid patching past channel 512.
Will the switch layout always match every fixture?
Not always. Some fixtures print the switch bank in different orientations or label the positions differently. DMX Dip Switch Calc provides a reverse bank view to help you match what you see, but you should confirm the fixture's printed markings or manual when needed.
Are my presets or recent values synced anywhere?
No. Version 1.0 does not require cloud sync or an account.
